One of the studies (no. 11) even reports that the Āyurvedic preperations were found equally effective as the allopathic compound in the management of iron deficiency anemia and the fact that the side effects were almost nil establishes them to be even superior.

The modes of action of drugs and procedures as stated in this chapter, which is without iron, have not been studied much in anemias. Though, some of the preperations described in anemia have been found very useful in the management of other types of anemias as sickle cell anemia , aplastic anemia etc.

 

So, further studies need to be done in order to know the efficacy of these drugs and mechanisms in the various types of anemias.
