The wise physician should not treat the following types of patients-

 

(i) Who is fierceful or aggressive, adventurous, fearful, ungrateful and fickle minded;

(ii) Who hates good persons, kings and physicians and who is intensely disliked by them;

 

(iii) Who is afflicted with grief;

(v) Who is in the end stage of disease and is predicted to die soon;

(vi) Who is not in position to collect the essential items (karaṇa) for the treatment;

#Who does not believe in God (''nastika'')

(vii) Who is enemy or hostile to the physician;

#Who is in the end stage of disease and is predicted to die soon;

(viii) Who is an impostor and considers himself to be a physician;

#Who is not in position to collect the essential items (''karana'') for the treatment;

(ix) Who is unfaithful to the physician;

#Who is enemy or hostile to the physician;

(x) Who is always suspicious (doubtful); and

#Who is an impostor and considers himself to be a physician;

(xi) Who is not obedient to the physician. The physician, who administers panchkarma or any medicine to the above mentioned types of patients, faces many difficulties and does not get success. Persons other than those mentioned above are suitable for all types of panchkarma or treatment procedures.

#Who is unfaithful to the physician;

#Who is always suspicious (doubtful); and

#Who is not obedient to the physician. The physician, who administers [[Panchakarma]] or any medicine to the above mentioned types of patients, faces many difficulties and does not get success. Persons other than those mentioned above are suitable for all types of [[anchakarma]] or treatment procedures.
