Meda dhatu is a body component indicate fat in general and adipose tissue in particular.[1] Its important function is snehana (to oleate or lubricate). (SAT-B.435)[2] The baddha or bounded form of meda can be understtod by stored fats. The abadhha or free form can included circulating lipids like those in the form of lipoproteins or those in the form of free fatty acids.[3]
