Etiology, clinical manifestation and management of pravahika, a basti complication:

===== Etiology, clinical manifestation and management of ''pravahika'', a ''basti'' complication =====

Pravahika occurs when patient of mahadosha (excessively vitiated dosha) having undergone sneha (oleation) & sweda (sudation), administered with niruha basti, prepared of drugs with mridu quality and in lower dose. In such conditions dosha undergo utklesha (exciting) and doshas are expelled in alpamatra (little quantity) thus result in pravahika (dysentery).

 

Following other signs & symptoms are also seen:

''Pravahika'' occurs when patient of ''mahadosha'' (excessively vitiated ''dosha'') having undergone ''sneha'' (oleation) and ''sweda'' (sudation), administered with ''niruha basti'', prepared of drugs with ''mridu'' quality and in lower dose. *''Sadana'' (exhaustion) of ''jangha'' (calf region) and ''uru'' (thighs).
