Charaka asks whether life exists after death or not. Some support the idea of rebirth or reincarnation on the basis of scriptures but others do not. If the cause of birth is only attributed to parents, it is accepting only that which is perceptible. If only ''swabhava'' (natural trait or instinct) is considered as a reason (which does not sound to be a compelling reason), it is denying the existence of God. ''Paranirmana'' is accepted as the cause for birth, since it considers the existence of God, and if ''yadruchcha'' (supernatural power) is the only reason attributed to birth, then it supports the theory of supernatural power but does not support the existence of God. | Charaka asks whether life exists after death or not.
