Purvarupa means prodromes or premonitory symptoms. It is the premonitory symptom by which manifest at early stage of disease and one can prevent progress of disease by treating it at an early stage.[Code:SAT-C.100] [1]
Purvarupa appear at the fourth stage of shatkriyakala (six different stage of disease) i.e. sthana-samshraya (localization of morbid dosha at pathological site).
Types
- Samanya (general) : Generalized premonitory features which may of may not get converted in signs and symptoms.
- Vishesha (specific) : Specific premonitory features pertaining to specific dosha which get converted in signs and symptoms.
