<p style="text-align:justify;">The word raktamoksha or raktamokshana literally means ‘to release blood’. It is one of the five purification procedures ([[panchakarma]]) and is important therapeutic procedure in management of disorders due to vitiation of [[rakta]] (blood) and [[pitta]] [[dosha]].<ref>VC Patil.
