Venesection is done in a comfortable position either sitting or lying down. The torniquet is tied above the site of venesection. The site of puncture is cleaned, and superficial visible vein is punctured to let the blood out. The method of venesection in various sites like head, legs, arms, pelvis, back, shoulder, abdomen, chest, flanks, penis (erected), tongue, palate and root of teeth is described.
