Importance of ''Ojas'' lies in the very fact that even after performing major role in sustaining the integrity of life it is not at all included in the category of - ''Dosha, Dhatu'' or ''Mala''. ''Ojas'' does not satisfy the criteria of ''Dosha'' of formation of ''Prakriti'', thus it is not a Dosha. ''Dhatu'' are having specific property of providing nourishment and producing the next ''Dhatu'' in the series which is not accomplished by ''Ojas''. This might be the reason why ''Ojas'' is not called as the eight ''dhatu'' in the cascade of seven dhatus mentioned in [[Ayurveda]]. Lastly, the ''Ojas'' is claimed to be the purest and excellent part and thus it is not included under the ''Mala'' category.
