Anuvasanabasti is a type of medicated enema with unctuous substances like oils, ghee etc. It is also called as ‘snehabasti’. The term ‘anuvasana’ means that can be followed daily. Hence the unctuous enema can be administered daily (anu divasa) without any complications. [Su.Sa.Chikitsa Sthana 35/18] Unlike niruhabasti, this enema formulation contains unctuous substances only.
